Die Cut Machine Selector

Have you thought about buying a cutting machine?  Don't know which kind to get?  Should it be electric?  Should it be manual?

How do you pick one?

Joann's Craft and Fabric Stores has the answer!  They have an online "Die Cut Machine Selector" that can help you choose what type of machine you should get.  It's very handy, plus you can check out prices for the machines themselves as well as their accessories.

I took the challenge and was very surprised with my selection.  It was a brand I hadn't considered, but it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.  Have fun with your selection!

Glitz Design

One of the really cute booths at CHA was the Glitz Design booth.  Check out this dress form for yourself.

They were doing a make and take on the dress form flowers.  So cute!  You really need to check out their blog as it is one of the better manufacturer blogs out there.   Be sure to check out the witch's hat door decoration on the right side of the blog.  A super cute fall idea (never too early to start your fall projects!)  Enjoy!

Cosmo Cricket Box Flower

Something is happening here.  Either:

A.  Making flowers is all the rage.

B.  I love hand crafted flowers.

Super Cute Flower Tutorial

While doing my usual internet cruise for all links that are good and scrappy, I came across this tutorial at Simply Renee (the Clip it Up people).  It was created by Robyn Schaub, design team member for Simply Renee.

Thickers by American Crafts

There are alphabets, and there are alphabets!  Thickers by American Crafts have to be one of the most popular alphabets available to scrappers and crafters today.

With so many styles available, what's the best way to find the font you're looking for?  Easy!  Just go to the Thickers section of the American Crafts website and you will find samples of all of the different alphabets they make such as puffy, glitter and felt.

For example, I clicked on "Jewlery Box" in the glitter section and found this:

Now I know that "Jewlery Box" is availabe in white, leaf and watermelon.  It makes it much easier to search my local stores and/or online for this particular font.  Pretty handy don't you think?  Enjoy!

A Miniature Memento

Ree Drumond is truly a Renaissance woman for the 21st century.  At her site The Pioneer Woman, she has all sorts of information about herself, photography, cooking and more.  This post about a miniature memento though is the cutest thing I've seen that's not a baby, a puppy or a kitten.

 

It's a miniature trunk a fan made and presented to her at a stop on her book signing tour.

Look at all of the miniature goodies inside!

Cricut Cake

While at CHA I was able to witness the absolute genius of the Cricut Cake, a totally new cake decorating machine.  Did I take any pictures?  No.  Why?  Because I was too busy saying ooh and aah watching it!  To look at it and what it can do click here.  What I can tell you is this:

• It looks just like a red Cricut machine, only it cuts a special rolled sugar you can use to decorate cakes.  Provo craft will sell the rolled sugar.
• It comes with a cart for cutting cake shapes.
• It works with your Cricut cartridges that you use for paper.
• It works with your Gypsy to create new images to cut.
• It makes super cute cakes and cupcakes!

Color Mixing Guide by Claudine Hellmuth

I found the coolest paint mixing guide by Claudine Hellmuth  for her paints by Ranger.  And I have been purchasing her acrylic paints as I run out of colors from my Making Memories collection. 

The best part?  Her 15 colors will give you 51 colors by using the guide and mixing equal parts.  I have much more than that now and have a hard time mixing.  It will be much easier to only have 15 colors to choose from.  Thanks Claudine!
