I only have 5 days until I need to ship the dress for the Craft Couture Contest at Summer CHA and so much to do. My dress form that I ordered did not get shipped, so I have to improvise and use one of my metal birdcages on a stand to get the bottom built! So here I go:
I used a roll of rebar wire to create the entire bottom.... piece by piece. I spent over 7 hours this afternoon cutting, bending and tying to get this far and literally have bruises on the inside of my hands. It all started with the first bends:
I used May Arts ribbon and twine to hold the pieces in place so they did not slip around.
And just kept going for hours...............
To make the bottom rigid, I added a strip of plumbers tape and ran the twine through the holes. I attached it every 6 holes with a small cut piece of wire that I thread through and then wrapped around the back side to keep it in place. The tape is metal.
