LaloI thought of this idea when I was dreaming about crafting, literally. I have
family coming this year and started to pull out the ol' red satin placemats
and just couldn't stand another season using them. I thought of doing my own with May Arts
canvas ribbon then spraying with Glimmer Mist. Take a look at how to do it...
Let's Get Started!
Here is the final result, my own holiday color theme placemat that has a vintage feel to it.
Supply List:
May Arts Ribbon
- 413.34.2 Canvas Crown Ribbon
-413.34.5 Canvas Flourish Ribbon
Tattered Angels
- Glimmer Mist: English Ivy, Scarlet
Beacon Adhesives
- FabriTac
Step One.
Using the canvas ribbon interweave the pieces together and adhering with FabriTac. Use your choice of pattern. This is the underside of the placemat when it is all done.
Step Two.
Using your Glimmer Mists alternate the red and green colors by spraying across diagonally. Once you have sprayed, place a paper towel flat on the sprayed area and push down lightly. This will soak up the excess mist and give it a more blended look.
Step Three.
Once the mist is dry, take out the last row of ribbon all the way around, this will give it a fringe look.
How it looks on the table before putting the plate down. How wonderfully festive this turned out.
Happy Holidays One and All,
Be Inspired...
