Alis Volat Propriis "She Flies With Her Own Wings"

Interesting tidbit: Alis volat propriis is a Latin phrase used as the motto of U.S. state of Oregon. The official English version of the motto is "She flies with her own wings" in keeping with the tradition of considering countries and territories to be feminine.

Working on the steampunk hat for this art canvas project.  I am using foam rubber along with paints from DecoArt and Prima Marketing, Inc. and my go-to adhesive, Beacon Adhesives to create the vintage look of the piece.  So many more layers to go, been at this piece for over two years. Getting close to being done.
