National Mod Podge day is May 19th and celebrating 50 years covering some seriously fun and interesting projects over the years! Woo hoo, lets get our decopauge on!
I am so excited to share this fun and easy project that will light up your night. When I am trying to think of something to make with a product, I set it out where I see each day. It usually takes a few days, sometimes a week and even months but there is always an AHA! moment when I finally think of something clever or creative to do with it. In this case, it came about because of an issue that I was having.
Each night when I have to use the restroom, I am typically half sleeping and groggy and have to fish around the wall to find the light. I have now solved that problem, so lets walk you through what I came up with for a solution...
I received two bottles of Mod Podge, Glow in the dark and sparkle. Well, honestly I could slather the sparkle on myself and nearly everything I own but that would not be very creative, quite sparkly but not a cool project necessarily. So I opted to figure out what to do with the Glow in the Dark Mod Podge. And it really did take me awhile to figure it out. I wanted my light switches in my bathroom to light up in the middle of the night. However, my bathroom is done in all Paris theme, so I had to match it. I printed some beautiful images from the internet to apply to the wall plates.
I carefully removed the wall plates and gathered my supplies.
There is no way to take a nice photo of your bathroom, but here goes:
I lathered the face plates with Mod Podge and placed the images over the top. I trimmed the image once it was on the plate and had a bit of time to dry.
You will have to put a number of coats on it to make it glow.
Of course, the true test is do they "GLOW IN THE DARK?" So I had to wait until late and have a dark room. Pictures are not so great but it shows that they glow. I makes it much easier to find the light in the middle of the night.
