May Arts & Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Blog Hoppin!

5" x 5" Corrugated Cardboard Greeting Card

I love using twine to create new shapes and the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive sheets make it so easy to accomplish.  

 

Cut out the tree shape, remove the backing sheet and expose the adhesive side face up.

Cut pieces of the May Arts twine and place down on the adhesive  Keep stacking pieces one above the other.

Keep adding the pieces until the surface is completely covered,

 

 

Turn the sheet over and trim the extra off the edges.

Carefully remove the backing leaving the adhesive on the back side of the twine and adhere to the front of the card.

 

 

Add pearls to the front of the tree to represent bulbs on the tree.

Add the words "Happy Holidays" with the alphabet set.

This month the second edition of Just Steampunk by Scott Publications came out.  I am thrilled to be a part of both the first edition and now the second edition and love seeing some of my dear friends included in this issue, including a cover shot of Terre Fry's amazing airship!

I got the opportunity to make a few projects for an incredible spread in the latest issue of Australian Simply Cards from Practical Publishing Australia. When I spent time in Australia last August I really fell in love with the area and all the wonderful people I met.  So this article really means alot to me!

Updates, News...Oh My!

First of all, tomorrow is my DEBUT blog post over at Spellbinders blog!  Had to work through all the first time technical stuff today, but Kelly was so sweet and walked me through it.  I cant wait to see it live, what a dream come true to work with such an incredible company!!

In my last post, I promised more news to come....and today is the day!  Some of you know that I toured Australia last year, and met some of the most awesome men and women in my ventures there.  I got the chance to meet Maggie Lloyd of Flourish With A Bling, she was just crazy enough to travel many hours to make it to one of my workshops, I was floored!  

I have had the opportunity to use the FWAB products in workshops and on personal projects, now I get to share them even more with you...as I am on their VERY FIRST design team!  I am so excited to be working with Maggie and the FWAB team!!!

Home Decor with Graphic45 and Hambly Studios

I know it has been awhile.  It is not because I haven't been crafting, just the ol' cant show it for a long time adage.  So today I got a bit of time and decided to make something JUST FOR YOU!  Not for anyone else except for my wonderful readers!!

I had a wonderful chipboard printers tray that I picked up in Australia when I was on tour last August and it has been calling my name for quite some time.  So I grabbed it and got busy.

First paint. Graphic45 paper. Glue. Hambly Screen Prints. Pearls from Flourish with a Bling. May Arts Ribbon. Graphic45 clothespin. Jolee's findings. Layered and Glued and there you have it!

 

Underneath the Hambly Screen Prints is a butterfly, ribbon, an old key and then a wood heart from Blumenthal Lansing.

Lots of layers to make this little home decor project.  Lots of fun getting the paint brushes out, and getting my craft on!

More from Australia...

My crafting tour has been a blur and whirlwind of great people and places...I am beyond exhausted but so happy to have gone to so many great places and meet some of the most fabulous people along the way!

You have all inspired me far more than anything I did for you!  So I finally got a little down time to work on some photos and post here on the blog...so sorry it has taken so long.  I have one more day of back to back workshops and then I am heading back to the US!

This last week we had workshops in Victoria, with the first stop being HobbySew in Echuca.  Karen and Helen came to pick us up at the airport and the poor girls had to hang out waiting for over 5 hours for us, our flight was cancelled and rescheduled.  These ladies had already driven nearly 3 hours to pick us up.  Then they finally got us at 9:30pm and still had the 3 hour drive to their house.  Thank you so very much you two for your infinite patience!

While I was at the workshops my husband got a chance to boat down the Murray river (spelled wrong I am sure):

Karen and Helen took us back to St. Kilda to spend the rest of the week there with the other stores.  However, on the way out they were kind enough to stop in the little historical town so we can take photos:

Then off to St. Kilda and we hit our hotel room and literally threw all our luggage in the room and turned around to head down to the ocean and pier:

"No Place Like Home" Mixed Media Album

The first workshop is "No Place Like Home" a mixed media album that is perfect to document a family holiday or tradition.  We will be using Graphic45's brand new "Magic of Oz" paper collection along with products from Basically Bare, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, May Arts, Ranger, Imaginarium Designs, The Rubber Cafe and Flourish with a Bling!  This kit is to die for, it is jam packed with lots of wonderful elements that we will be layering throughout this book!

We will be going on a mixed media journey doing lots of layering, distressing and inking!

"Treasured Memories...The Past" Mixed Media Album Workshop

It is no secret that I love "Steampunk" and heritage inspired projects and our Treasured Memories...The Past is the perfect album for this.  Using the new "Funky Findings" mixed media album from Basically Bare!

We will be using Graphic45's  "Steampunk Debutante" paper collection along with products from Basically Bare, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, May Arts, Ranger, Imaginarium Designs, The Rubber Cafe, Flourish with a Bling and Vintage Street Market!  We will do some serious layering and inking in true steampunk style.

  We will have custom lettering that will go on the front that says "Treasured Memories" for the actual workshop.  I do not have them yet to show on the sample.  Please notate.

I cannot wait to meet all you wonderful crafters in Australia and very excited to share and inspire each of you!
